Set high aspirations

People want to be part of something important. It’s exciting when a team achieves something big.

Few people, however, ever have the opportunity to really make a significant difference.

As a leader, you have the power to offer this experience to others by setting high aspirations.

When one thinks about doing big things, its easy to think of Steve Jobs.

He was not shy about much of anything, including how he achieved his many well documented accomplishments. Jobs himself told us his secret:

“… the only way to do great work is to love what you do,”

From an early age, he set out to do just that.

Most of us want to accomplish important things, and dream about being part of something great.

Leaders are able to give us this gift.

As a leader, never forget that your most important job is to give people the chance to do kind of work they love.

From this foundational wellspring, great work flows.
