Let Others Finish

How do you know how to move the conversation forward if you don’t know what has been said?

If you’re anxiously waiting for an opening so you can jump in to the conversation and speak, you are not really listening. At the same time, you’re signaling to others that you don’t really care what they are saying.

Make a effort to listen. Train yourself not to think about interrupting other speakers. Instead, make sure they have had their say before you begin speaking. Not only will you know more when you begin to speak, but they are much more likely to listen to what you have to say.

This is how conversations move forward with everyone on board.
